Today the Governments of Canada and Ontario announced more than $3.7 million in funding for new affordable housing for seniors in Clinton. 31 new affordable housing rental units will be built for seniors living on low income in Huron County. The project received more than $5.3 million in funding from all levels of government.

Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb presented more than $1.3 million for the creation of an aerospace manufacturing training facility at the James T. Field Memorial Airport in Huron Park. With the support of the HBDC and its partners the training facility is expected to create or retain 60 skilled manufacturing jobs by 2010, with an additional 235 jobs added by 2015.

50 years later Ola Kjus and his wife Turi from Norway visit the site his brother Tore Kjus was killed after being struck by a car near Grand Bend. Tore Kjus was part of the Norwegian student pilot contingent training at the former RCAF Station Centralia at the time. Ola and Turi were taken on a tour of Exeter town hall and later Goderich Aircraft in Huron Park where Tore would have been stationed.
Pilot Hugh Shields provided flyovers and information on the DeHavilland Chipmunk, the type of plane Tore was training in as a tribute for the family.

Avon-Maitland District School Board staff recommend closing Usborne while the Accommodation Review Committee recommended a deferral. The trustees make the final decision in June.

The Grand Bend Motorplex held its biggest racing event of the year July 18th to 20th , which draws tens of thousands to the area for the 3 day event and the only one of its kind in Ontario. Despite the rain delays, the racing was able to continue into the finals on Sunday. The Mopar Canadian Nationals was the 6th of 10 national events on the IHRA Nitro Jam series schedule.
